Add-on

Custom Discord bot with your own name and avatar

Your community has its own identity, so should its bot. With the Custom Bot add-on, BotGG runs on your own Discord application: members see your bot’s name, avatar and status in the member list, and every reply, panel and ping comes from it. You keep the same features and the same web console.

Only you can see this

Same BotGG features — answered by your own bot

What you get

Your name and avatar

The bot’s name and avatar come from the Discord application you create. Change them any time in the Discord Developer Portal.

Your status and activity

Pick Online, Idle or Do not disturb and an activity — Playing, Listening, Watching, Competing or a custom status — right in the console.

Every BotGG feature

Tickets, Lobbies, Levels, Flows, Moderation and the rest run on your bot with the same settings. Slash commands are registered for your bot on your server.

Token stored encrypted

Your bot token is checked with Discord, encrypted with AES-256 and never shown again — not even to you in the console.

BotGG steps aside

While your bot is live, the main BotGG bot stays silent on that server, so members never get two answers.

Safe fallback

If your bot stops — a crash, a reset token, a lapsed add-on — BotGG covers the server again until your bot is back, so features keep working.

How it works

  1. Create a Discord application

In the Discord Developer Portal click New Application. The name becomes your bot’s name; an icon under General Information becomes its avatar. It’s free and takes a minute.

  2. Turn on the member intent

On the Bot page enable Server Members Intent (required). Message Content Intent is optional — it powers AutoMod content rules, message text in logs and ticket transcripts.

  3. Paste the token in the console

Open the Custom Bot page for your server in https://console.botgg.app, paste the bot token and click Verify & save. BotGG checks it with Discord and stores it encrypted.

  4. Invite your bot

Use the generated invite link — it asks for exactly the permissions BotGG uses. Keep every permission checked.

  5. Go live

As soon as your bot joins, it takes over and BotGG steps aside. Set the status and activity, and you’re done.

What a custom Discord bot from BotGG includes

Most branded bots mean hosting, updates and code. With Custom Bot you only own the Discord application: BotGG runs it for you with the same feature set, the same fixes and the same console as the main bot. You configure features exactly as before — the only thing that changes is who answers in Discord.

Keep BotGG itself in the server: the console uses it to read your channels and roles. While your bot is live, BotGG doesn’t respond there. From the console you can pause your bot (BotGG takes over, nothing is deleted), resume it, replace the token after resetting it in the portal, or remove it completely.

  • Status: Online, Idle or Do not disturb
  • Activity: Playing, Listening, Watching, Competing or a custom status (up to 128 characters)
  • Health shown in the console: Live, Waiting, Needs attention or Paused — with a clear fix for each error
  • Your bot restarts automatically after a crash; BotGG covers the server meanwhile

Frequently asked questions

Can I use BotGG with my own bot name and avatar?

Yes, with the Custom Bot add-on. You create a Discord application, give it a name and an icon, paste its token in the console, and BotGG runs all its features under that bot on your server.

Do I need to host or code anything?

No. You only create the application in the Discord Developer Portal. BotGG runs the bot, updates it and keeps it online.

Is my bot token safe?

The token is only sent to Discord to verify it, then stored encrypted with AES-256. It is never returned to the browser, so nobody can read it back in the console.

Why do I need the Server Members intent?

Discord hides member events from bots unless you enable it, and features like welcome messages, verification and stat channels depend on them. Message Content is optional.

What happens if the add-on ends?

Your bot goes offline and the main BotGG bot serves your server again with the same settings. Renew the add-on and your bot takes over again.

Does the custom bot work on several servers?

The add-on covers one server. For many servers with your own bots and branding, see White Label.

Ready to level up your server?

Add BotGG for free, then switch features on in the web console.
