Discord AI bot that answers questions from your server’s own knowledge

Write your FAQ and rules once in the console. When a member mentions the bot, asks in a help channel or uses /ask, BotGG answers from your knowledge base, shows which entries it used and offers a ticket when the answer isn’t there.

What you get

Answers from your knowledge

FAQ entries, server rules, an “about the server” text and messages pinned in up to 5 channels. Every answer lists its sources, such as “FAQ #3 · Rule 2”.

Three ways to ask

Mention the bot, use /ask (public or private), or post in a help channel where the assistant replies to questions it can answer with confidence.

Hands over to Tickets

When it isn’t sure, the answer gets a Not sure? Open a ticket button that opens a ticket through your Tickets setup.

Ticket summaries for staff

/assistant summarize reads the last 100 messages of a ticket and sums up the issue, what was done, what is open and the next step.

Mod assist that only suggests

Optionally checks messages in chosen channels for toxicity, harassment and spam and flags them to the mod log with Delete, Timeout and Dismiss buttons. It never acts on its own.

Your persona, your tone

Name the assistant, choose a friendly, professional, playful or concise tone, add short instructions and reply in the member’s language or the server’s.

How it works

  1. Enable the AI assistant

Open https://console.botgg.app, pick your server and switch on AI assistant. It is off by default.

  2. Fill in the knowledge

On the Knowledge tab add FAQ entries, your rules and an about text, and import pinned messages from the channels you choose.

  3. Test in the playground

Ask questions in the console Playground and see the answer, its sources and token use before members see anything.

  4. Go live in Discord

Choose how members ask (mention, /ask, help channels), set a cooldown and a daily cap, and turn on the ticket hand-over. Answers in Discord need Pro.

An AI helper that sticks to what your server says

The same questions come up every day: how to get a role, where the rules are, when the next event starts. The assistant answers them from the knowledge you wrote, so members get help at any hour and staff only see the questions that need a human. If nothing in the knowledge fits, it says it isn’t sure instead of guessing, and in help channels it stays silent unless it is confident.

Answers are written by an AI provider, currently Google Gemini (see the sub-processor list). Only the text needed for the task is sent: the question with the member’s display name and your knowledge base (plus ticket messages for summaries and message text in mod-assist channels). BotGG doesn’t save questions or answers, only daily usage counters. Member text is always treated as data, links that aren’t in your knowledge are removed and the bot never pings anyone. Every answer is labelled as an AI answer that may be wrong.

  • Free: set up the knowledge base and try it in the playground, 20 answers a day, 20 FAQ entries
  • Pro: answers in Discord, 200 a day (including ticket summaries), 300 FAQ entries
  • Pro: mod assist, 2,000 message checks a day
  • Help channels and mod assist need the Message Content intent; mentions and /ask work without it

Frequently asked questions

Is there a Discord bot that answers questions automatically?

Yes. BotGG’s AI assistant answers when members mention it, use /ask or post in help channels you choose. It answers from your FAQ, rules, about text and pinned messages, and shows which entries it used.

Will the AI make things up?

It is told to answer only from your knowledge base. When nothing fits, it says it isn’t sure and can offer a ticket. In help channels only confident answers are posted. Answers can still be wrong, so each one is labelled as an AI answer.

Which AI model does it use?

A model from our AI provider, currently Google Gemini (listed in the sub-processors). Gemini 2.5 Flash-Lite handles answers, summaries and quick checks. We may change models as better ones become available.

Is the AI assistant free?

On Free you can set up everything and test it in the console playground (20 answers a day). Answers in Discord, ticket summaries and mod assist are part of Pro, with 200 answers a day.

Does it store our members’ messages?

No. Questions and answers aren’t saved by BotGG, only daily usage counters. Your FAQ entries and imported pins are stored until you delete them. BotGG doesn’t use message content to train AI models.

Can it moderate my server?

It can help. Mod assist checks messages in channels you pick and flags toxicity, harassment or spam to the mod log with one-click Delete, Timeout and Dismiss. A moderator always decides. For automatic rules see Moderation.
