Replies for you
Anyone who mentions an AFK member gets a short reply with the reason and since when — once per channel, no ping, deleted after a few seconds.
Type /afk lunch and go. When someone mentions you, BotGG answers that you’re away. When you’re back, you get the list of everyone who pinged you with jump links. And with highlights, you never miss a conversation about the things you care about.
@Alex are you joining the raid tonight?

back! yes, count me in

Welcome back, @Alex! I removed your AFK (set 40 minutes ago). You were mentioned 3 times.
Anyone who mentions an AFK member gets a short reply with the reason and since when — once per channel, no ping, deleted after a few seconds.
On return you see how many mentions you got and, with one click (or by DM), the full list with jump links to each message.
An optional prefix shows the status right in the member list and is removed when you come back. Hierarchy-safe: the owner is never renamed.
Your next message ends AFK after a short grace period, so a quick “brb” doesn’t count. Or run /afk again.
Add words with /highlight add. When one comes up in a channel you can see, you get a DM with the context — skipped if you were just chatting there.
Per-member cooldowns, a server-wide hourly DM budget, blocks for noisy members and ignored channels keep DMs useful.
Open https://console.botgg.app, choose your server and switch on AFK & highlights. Pick how replies behave, the nickname tag and how members get their mentions.
Members type /afk reason: dinner 🍝. People who mention them get a reply; mentions are collected for later.
Send any message (or /afk again). The bot says welcome back and shows who mentioned you while you were away.
/highlight add keyword: raid — the bot DMs you when “raid” comes up. /highlight block stops someone from triggering it.
AFK on Discord used to mean changing your nickname by hand and scrolling back through hours of chat. BotGG does both for you: the nickname tag is added and restored automatically, and the mentions are kept until you’re back. Replies are rate-limited per channel and auto-delete, so busy channels stay clean. Admins see who is AFK in the console and can clear a status.
Highlights read message text, which needs Discord’s Message Content access for the bot; without it AFK keeps working and the console says what is missing. Want scheduled pings instead? Try Reminders.

With BotGG enabled, type /afk and optionally a reason. The bot replies to anyone who mentions you and can add an [AFK] tag to your nickname. Your next message or /afk again ends it.
Yes. When you come back the bot tells you how many mentions you got and shows the list with jump links — behind a private button or by DM, as the server chooses.
Keywords you choose with /highlight add. When one of them is written in a channel you can see, BotGG sends you a DM with the message and a link — unless you were active in that channel a moment ago.
No. Each member gets at most one highlight DM per cooldown, the server has an hourly DM budget, and you can block members whose messages should never trigger your highlights.
Up to 5 keywords per member on the Free plan and 25 on Pro. See pricing.
