Discord reputation bot: thank-you points, leaderboards and role rewards

Every thank-you is +1 rep for the helper. Members use /thanks or just write “thanks @Alex” in the chat; BotGG counts it, keeps all-time and monthly leaderboards and gives out roles, coins or XP when someone reaches a milestone.

What you get

One command to say thanks

/thanks member reason (or /rep give) adds a point and posts a friendly note in the channel — without pinging anyone.

Detects “thanks @member”

Optional auto-detection reads thank-you words in English, Russian and Hebrew, plus your own keywords, and also counts replies. A 🙏 reaction confirms it.

Built-in anti-abuse

No self-rep, no bots, cooldowns, a daily cap per member, minimum account and server age, and ignored channels and roles keep scores honest.

Role rewards

Give a role at 10 rep, another at 50 — stack them or keep only the highest, and take them back if rep drops. Up to 5 rewards on Free, 25 on Pro.

Leaderboards

/rep leaderboard shows all-time or this-month rankings with pages, and /rep check shows a member’s total, rank, next reward and latest reasons.

Coins and XP per thanks

Pay Bank coins or Levels XP for every thank-you received, if those features are on. Staff can remove points with a logged reason.

How it works

  1. Enable Reputation

Open https://console.botgg.app, choose your server and switch on Reputation. Set the cooldowns, the daily cap and where replies and logs appear.

  2. Add role rewards

Pick a threshold and a role for each milestone, choose stack or replace, and optionally add coins or XP per thank-you.

  3. Members say thanks

Use /thanks @Alex helped me set up roles or write “thanks @Alex” if auto-detection is on. Replying to a helpful message with “thx” works too.

  4. Watch the community grow

Check the leaderboard, review recent activity in the console and revoke a point if someone abused the system.

A reputation system that rewards real help

Support channels, study groups and trading communities all depend on a few people who help others. A reputation bot makes that visible: members see who is trusted, helpers get recognition, and you can promote them with automatic roles instead of tracking it by hand. Because every point comes with a reason and a link to the message, it’s easy to see why someone earned it.

Auto-detection reads message text, which needs Discord’s Message Content access for the bot. Without it the commands keep working and the console tells you what is missing. Reputation pairs well with Levels for activity and the Bank for coin payouts.

  • /thanks member [reason] · /rep give member [reason] — thank someone
  • /rep check [member] — total, rank, next reward and recent reasons
  • /rep leaderboard [period] — all-time or this month
  • /rep remove member [amount] reason — staff only, always logged

Frequently asked questions

How does a Discord reputation system work?

Members thank each other with /thanks or by writing “thanks @member”. Each thank-you adds one reputation point for the receiver, and the bot ranks members on a leaderboard and can give roles at thresholds.

Can members farm reputation?

It’s hard. Self-rep and bots are always blocked, and you can set a cooldown, a per-pair cooldown, a daily cap, a minimum account age and a minimum time in the server. Staff can revoke any single point.

Does the bot detect “thanks” in chat on its own?

Yes, if you turn on auto-detection. It understands thank-you words in English, Russian and Hebrew plus your own keywords, and counts replies. It needs the Message Content intent; without it detection is skipped and commands still work.

What can I reward with reputation?

Roles at thresholds, plus optional Bank coins and Levels XP for each thank-you received. Roles can stack or replace each other and can be removed if rep falls.

How many reward roles can I set?

Up to 5 threshold rewards on the Free plan and 25 on Pro. See pricing.
