A Discord interview bot for staff and clan applicants

Interviews turns “when are you free?” threads into a real hiring step. Invite an applicant straight from their application, let them pick a time in their own timezone, and BotGG opens a private room, reminds everyone and collects a scorecard from each interviewer.

What you get

Times they pick themselves

Propose up to five times. The applicant books one with a button in their DMs — or on a web page if their DMs are closed. Everyone sees times in their own timezone.

Reminders for both sides

DM reminders before the interview (24 hours and 1 hour by default) go to the candidate and the interviewers. Each one is sent once, even after a restart.

Private interview rooms

At the start time BotGG opens a private voice or text channel for the candidate, the interviewers and your staff roles — and deletes it afterwards.

Scorecards with weights

Rate each criterion with 1–5 stars or yes / no, give a recommendation and notes. BotGG adds up a weighted score and the team verdict.

Blind scoring

Interviewers see each other’s scores only after submitting their own, so the first opinion doesn’t steer the rest.

Decide in one place

Accept or deny from the room or the console. The decision runs through Applications: roles, DMs and the announcement work as usual.

How it works

  1. Create interview types

In the BotGG console set the format (voice or text), duration, interviewer roles, scorecard criteria and a question guide.

  2. Invite from an application

Press 💬 Interview on a review card in Discord, or “Invite to interview” in the console, and propose a few times.

  3. The applicant picks a time

They choose a slot in their DMs. Reminders go out automatically and the private room opens a few minutes before the start.

  4. Score and decide

Each interviewer fills a quick scorecard in Discord or the full one in the console. Then accept or deny the application.

Structured interviews without spreadsheets

Most servers interview new moderators in a random voice channel and forget what was said a week later. With Applications and Interviews every candidate gets the same questions, the same criteria and a record of who rated what.

Missed interviews are handled too: if the candidate never joins the room, the interview ends as a no-show and you can propose new times in one click.

  • Reschedule, cancel or set a time agreed elsewhere.
  • Candidates can ask for another time instead of ghosting.
  • Text rooms can keep a transcript with the interview.
  • Interview history with no-show and pass rates.

Slash commands

No slash commands — everything is configured in the web console and runs automatically.

Free vs Pro

Frequently asked questions

How do I schedule an interview on Discord?

Turn on Interviews, create an interview type in the console, then press 💬 Interview on an application (or “Invite to interview” in the console) and propose a few times. The applicant picks one in their DMs.

What if the applicant has DMs turned off?

BotGG tells you and gives you a link to a web page where the applicant logs in with Discord and picks a time. They can also ask for another time there.

Does the bot create a voice channel for the interview?

Yes. Shortly before the start it opens a private voice or text channel in the category you choose, visible only to the candidate, the interviewers and your staff roles. It is deleted after the interview.

Can interviewers see each other’s scores?

With blind scoring (on by default) an interviewer sees the other scorecards only after submitting their own. Managers who aren’t interviewing see every submitted scorecard.

How is this different from Applications?

Applications collects the form and the decision. Interviews adds scheduling, reminders, interview rooms and scorecards to the applications you want to talk to.
