Version 1.2 · Effective 27 September 2026
This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies (browser localStorage and sessionStorage) the BotGG website (https://botgg.app), console (https://console.botgg.app) and BotGG Links landing pages (https://botgg.click) use, and why. White Label consoles on a Tenant's own domain use the same technologies. For how we handle personal data in general, see our Privacy Policy.
1. Summary
- Website (botgg.app):
- one first-party cookie,
botgg_consent, which records your cookie choices; - one browser-storage entry,
botgg_a11y, which is saved only if you use the accessibility toolbar; - Google Analytics cookies (
_gaand_ga_<container>), only if you allow "Analytics" in the cookie banner; - no advertising and no other third-party trackers. Fonts are served from our own server.
- Console:
- one strictly necessary session cookie;
- the
botgg_refcookie, only if you open a BotGG referral link; - a few preference entries in your browser's storage;
- fonts served from our own server, with no requests to third-party font services;
- on billing pages, PayPal's checkout components.
- BotGG Links landing pages (botgg.click):
- no session or login cookie, and no cookies for BotGG's own link statistics;
- on links that use pixels only, one strictly necessary consent cookie,
botgg_lc_<linkId>; - the pixel providers' cookies, only after you consent on that page, and only on links whose Server added those pixels (section 5).
- We use analytics only with your consent, and only on the website. Until you turn on the "Analytics" category, the website does not load Google Analytics and sets no analytics cookies. You can turn it off again as easily as you turned it on. We do not use advertising cookies. Pixels on BotGG Links pages are added by Server Owners and load only with the visitor's consent (section 5).
2. Cookie banner and your choices
On your first visit, the website and the console each show a cookie banner with three options:
- Accept all;
- Reject non-essential;
- Settings, where you can choose each category.
The categories are:
- Necessary (always on);
- Preferences;
- Analytics (off by default; on the website it turns on Google Analytics, see section 4; the console uses no analytics).
We store your choice in the botgg_consent cookie, together with the version of this policy and the time of your choice. When the policy version changes, we ask you again. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of the website or the console.
3. Strictly necessary
| Name | Type | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
botgg_consent | HTTP cookie (first-party; SameSite=Lax, Secure) | Website and console (each on its own domain) | Records your cookie choices (necessary / preferences / analytics), the policy version and the time of your choice, so we respect them and don't ask again | 180 days |
botgg.sid | HTTP cookie (first-party; HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax) | Console | Keeps you signed in. Holds only a random session ID; the session data itself (your Discord user ID, name, avatar, language, the Servers you can manage, and a one-time sign-in security code) stays on our server. Also protects the Discord sign-in against forgery. | Up to 7 days, or until you log out |
botgg_ref | HTTP cookie (first-party; HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax) | Console, when you open a BotGG referral link | Stores the referral code and the time you opened the link, so the invitation can be credited when you sign in. It is needed for the referral program you chose to use and is not used for tracking. It is deleted when you sign in | Until you sign in, at most the attribution window (30 days by default) |
botgg.flows.liveOk | sessionStorage | Console (Flows editor) | Remembers that you confirmed the warning before a test run that performs real Discord actions, so we don't ask again in the same tab | Until you close the tab |
botgg_a11y | localStorage | Website and console (accessibility toolbar) | Saves the display settings you chose in the accessibility toolbar (text size, contrast, grayscale, highlighted links, readable font, stopped animations, big cursor, spacing) so they apply on every page. It is created only when you change a setting, because you asked for it, and it never leaves your browser | Until you press "Reset" in the toolbar or clear browser storage |
4. Analytics (website only, with your consent)
On the website (botgg.app) we use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC, to count visits and learn which pages are useful. The console does not use it.
- Nothing without your consent. We use Google's Consent Mode: all Google storage is set to "denied" by default. Until you turn on "Analytics" (with "Accept all" or in "Settings"), the website does not load the Google Analytics script, sends nothing to Google and sets no analytics cookies.
- What Google receives if you allow it: a random identifier stored in the cookies below, the pages you view and the page you came from, your device type, browser and screen size, and your approximate location (country or region), which is derived from your IP address. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. The legal basis, retention period and international transfers are described in our Privacy Policy.
- No advertising. Advertising storage, ad personalisation and Google signals stay off. We do not use analytics data for advertising or remarketing, and we do not link it to your Discord or console account.
| Name | Type | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
_ga | HTTP cookie (first-party, on botgg.app) | Google Analytics, only after you allow "Analytics" | Distinguishes visitors by a random ID, so that visits can be counted without knowing who you are | 2 years |
_ga_<container> (for example _ga_117L0E4R5R) | HTTP cookie (first-party, on botgg.app) | Google Analytics, only after you allow "Analytics" | Keeps the state of your visit (session), for example the session number and when it started | 2 years |
Withdrawing consent. Open "Cookie settings" in the website footer and turn "Analytics" off, or choose "Reject non-essential". Measurement stops at once, and the website deletes the _ga and _ga_<container> cookies from your browser. You can also delete or block these cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out browser add-on.
5. BotGG Links landing pages (botgg.click)
A BotGG Links address (https://botgg.click/<name>) opens a landing page for a Discord Server. BotGG never sets a session or login cookie on botgg.click, and our own link statistics use no cookies (they rely on a hashed visitor ID that changes every day; see the Privacy Policy).
Pixels, only with your consent. On Pro plans, a Server Owner can add the IDs of their own tracking pixels to a link: Meta (Facebook) Pixel, Google Analytics 4 / Google tag, TikTok Pixel, X (Twitter) Pixel, Reddit Pixel and Snapchat Pixel. On such a link, the page shows a consent banner saying that it uses tracking set up by that Server after your consent, with these categories:
- Necessary (always on);
- Analytics (Google Analytics 4,
G-IDs); - Marketing (Google Ads
AW-IDs, and the Meta, TikTok, X, Reddit and Snap pixels).
Nothing is loaded until you choose. Only the categories you allow are loaded, and only for that link. The Server Owner is responsible for these pixels (the controller), and BotGG shows the banner and loads them on its behalf. Links without pixels show no banner and set no cookies.
| Name | Type | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
botgg_lc_<linkId> | HTTP cookie (first-party, on botgg.click; one per link) | BotGG, only on links that use pixels | Strictly necessary: records your consent choice for that link's pixels, so we respect it and don't ask again | 180 days |
_fbp | HTTP cookie | Meta Pixel, only after you allow "Marketing" | Meta's advertising measurement | As set by Meta |
_ga, _ga_<id>, _gcl_au | HTTP cookies | Google tag, only after you allow "Analytics" (Google Analytics, G- IDs) or "Marketing" (Google Ads, AW- IDs) | Google's visit and conversion measurement | As set by Google |
_ttp | HTTP cookie | TikTok Pixel, only after you allow "Marketing" | TikTok's advertising measurement | As set by TikTok |
personalization_id, muc_ads | HTTP cookies (on X's domains) | X Pixel, only after you allow "Marketing" | X's advertising measurement | As set by X |
_rdt_uuid | HTTP cookie | Reddit Pixel, only after you allow "Marketing" | Reddit's advertising measurement | As set by Reddit |
_scid | HTTP cookie | Snap Pixel, only after you allow "Marketing" | Snap's advertising measurement | As set by Snap |
The providers may set other cookies or use similar technologies; the names above are examples. These providers receive data directly from your browser and handle it under their own cookie and privacy policies. Changing your choice: delete the botgg_lc_<linkId> cookie (or the site data for botgg.click) in your browser settings, and the page will ask you again. You can delete the providers' cookies there too.
6. Preferences and functionality (console)
These entries stay in your browser. The console does not send them to us, except that your language choice is also saved to your account when you are signed in. botgg.locale is saved because you pick a language, and the Flows entries only when you enter test data or run a test. botgg.recentEmoji and botgg.flows.panelWidth are saved only if you allow "Preferences" in the cookie banner, and are deleted when you withdraw that choice.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
botgg.locale | localStorage | Your console language (English, Russian or Hebrew) | Until you clear it or change the language |
botgg.recentEmoji | localStorage | Up to 16 emojis you used recently in the emoji picker | Until you clear browser storage |
botgg.flows.panelWidth | localStorage | Width of the side panel in the Flows editor | Until you clear browser storage |
botgg.flows.testData.<workflow ID> | localStorage | Custom test data you entered for a Flow's test runs. It may contain whatever you typed, so don't put secrets in it | Until you clear it in the editor or clear browser storage |
botgg.flows.lastRun.<workflow ID> | sessionStorage | The result of your last test run, so it survives a page reload | Until you close the tab |
7. Third parties on the console
- PayPal: on billing and checkout pages, the console loads PayPal's JavaScript SDK to display the subscription buttons. PayPal may set its own cookies and use similar technologies for payment processing, security and fraud prevention. These are strictly necessary for the payment you request and are governed by PayPal's cookie statement and privacy statement. PayPal content is loaded only on billing pages.
- Discord CDN: avatars, Server icons and emojis are loaded from Discord's CDN (cdn.discordapp.com), so Discord receives your IP address and browser details under its own privacy policy.
- Signing in with Discord takes you to discord.com. Discord's own cookies apply there.
8. Managing cookies and storage
You can change your choices at any time with "Cookie settings" in the website footer. You can also delete or block cookies and site data in your browser settings. If you block the botgg.sid cookie, you cannot sign in to the console. Clearing site data resets your preferences. Logging out deletes the session on our server and clears the cookie.
9. Changes
We will update this policy, and its version number, if we change the cookies or storage we use. A new version makes the banner ask for your choice again.
- Version 1.2 (27 September 2026): added BotGG Links landing pages on botgg.click: the
botgg_lc_<linkId>consent cookie and the pixel providers' cookies (only with consent, and only on links that use pixels). - Version 1.1 (27 September 2026): added Google Analytics on the website (only with your consent) and the
botgg_refreferral cookie on the console.
