Private threads for staff
Each conversation opens as a private thread in your staff channel or as a post in a forum channel, numbered per server, with account age, join date, roles, earlier threads and moderation cases.
With BotGG modmail, a member simply sends the bot a direct message. Your staff get a private thread (or a forum post) with the member’s details, answer with /modmail reply, and the member reads the reply in their DMs. No public ticket channel, no personal DMs between members and moderators.

Each conversation opens as a private thread in your staff channel or as a post in a forum channel, numbered per server, with account age, join date, roles, earlier threads and moderation cases.
Members pick a topic like “Report a user” or “Appeal” before sending, and each topic can ping its own roles. Up to 3 topics on Free, 15 on Pro.
/modmail areply answers as the staff team with the server icon. Named replies show the staff member and their highest hoisted role. Pick the default in the console.
Snippets with {user}, {server}, {staff} and {number} placeholders, sent with /modmail snippet and autocomplete. Up to 10 on Free, 100 on Pro.
Opens and closes go to a log channel with the full transcript as an HTML or text file. Internal notes are marked, and members can get their own copy without them.
Block a member for a while or for good, cap new conversations per day and set a cooldown between DMs. Random DMs to the bot get no answer at all.
Open https://console.botgg.app, choose your server and switch on Modmail. Pick private threads or a forum, the staff channel, staff and ping roles and a log channel.
Write a greeting and a closing message with the embed builder, add topics, and decide if members confirm with Send / Cancel before a thread opens.
They pick a topic (and a server, if you share several with BotGG), confirm, and get a ✅ on every message that reaches your staff.
Reply with /modmail reply, areply or snippet, then /modmail close with a reason or a delay like 2h. The transcript lands in the log and in the Threads tab of the console.
Modmail is the quiet way to talk to your staff: reports about other members, ban questions, sensitive problems. Every conversation stays in one place your whole team can read, so nothing gets lost in someone’s personal DMs and a new moderator can see the full history. If a member writes again within a few days of a close, the old thread reopens instead of starting from zero.
Members can send files: images and documents up to the size you set (up to 10 MB) are re-uploaded to the thread, larger ones arrive as links. Edits and deletions are synced so staff always see what was changed. Need a structured form instead? Use Tickets, and handle ban appeals with Appeals.

Relay mode needs Discord’s Message Content access for the bot; the console warns you when it is missing.
Auto-close ends quiet conversations after the hours you choose and warns staff and the member beforehand. Members can close their own conversation with a button, and staff can schedule a close that a new member reply cancels. Everything is managed from the console tabs: Threads, Topics, Snippets, Blocklist and Settings.

A modmail bot lets members contact the server staff by sending the bot a DM. The message appears in a private staff thread, staff answer there, and the bot delivers the answer back to the member’s DMs.
Yes. /modmail areply always answers as the staff team with the server icon, and /modmail reply has an anonymous option. You can make anonymous replies the default in the console.
The bot asks which server they want to contact. With open conversations on several servers it asks where each message should go and remembers the choice for a few minutes.
Use /modmail block with an optional duration such as 7d, or add them on the Blocklist tab. You can also limit new conversations per member per day and set a cooldown between DMs.
Yes. Every message is stored, and on close the transcript goes to your log channel as a file and stays readable in the console. Members can optionally get their own copy by DM.
Up to 10 snippets and 3 topics on the Free plan, 100 and 15 on Pro. Everything else in Modmail is free. See pricing.
