Join to create, gone when empty
Joining the setup channel creates a fresh lobby and moves the member in. When the last person leaves, the lobby and its text chat are deleted automatically.
Lobbies is a temporary voice channels bot built into BotGG. Members join one “➕ Join to Create” channel, get their own voice lobby, and control it from a panel — no more twenty empty “Squad 7” channels cluttering your server.

@Alex, this is your lobby — manage it here 👇
/lobby limit 5

Member limit set to 5.

Joining the setup channel creates a fresh lobby and moves the member in. When the last person leaves, the lobby and its text chat are deleted automatically.
Every new lobby gets a panel in its chat: rename, set a limit, lock, hide, permit, reject, invite by DM, transfer, set a voice status and more — through menus or buttons.
Personal rooms, numbered rooms (“Gaming 1, 2…”), fixed templates, clones of Duo/Trio/Squad channels, or a dynamic mode that always keeps exactly one empty room ready.
If the owner leaves, the lobby stays up and anyone still inside can claim it. Staff can take over any room at any time.
Name, limit, bitrate, region, lock and hide choices are remembered per member and applied to their next lobby, or loaded with one click.
Owners can post an LFM ad to a channel you choose, with a Join button that drops people straight into the lobby.
Open your server in the BotGG console, turn on Lobbies and pick staff, member and join roles if you need them.
Add a setup in the console or run /lobbies setup in Discord. BotGG creates a “➕ Join to Create” voice channel with the type you chose.
The bot creates the room, moves the member in and posts the control panel in the voice channel’s chat, pinging the owner.
Panel menus or /lobby commands handle limits, locks, invites and transfers. Empty rooms are cleaned up for you.
Static voice channels either sit empty or fill up with strangers. Join-to-create lobbies fix both problems: the server shows one entry point per game mode, and every group gets a room sized for them. Rooms can land at the top or bottom of a category, below the entry channel, or in their own category, and BotGG opens an overflow category when Discord’s 50-channel limit is reached.
Names come from templates with variables such as {username}, {nickname}, {game} and {seq}, plus random word pools like animals or constellations. A word blacklist keeps lobby names, statuses and LFM notes clean.
/lobbies troubleshoot checks the bot’s permissions and setups and fixes what it safely can. Each control — name, limit, status, lock, hide, permit, reject, invite, transfer, bitrate, region, text chat, age-restricted mark, LFM and join requests — can be turned on or off for the whole server, per setup or per role. You can also restyle the panel: title, description, color, thumbnail, button labels and a menu or button layout.
Members who want into a locked room can use /lobby request: the owner gets Accept and Deny buttons, and the requester hears back by DM.

Enable Lobbies in the BotGG console and add a join-to-create setup, or run /lobbies setup. Anyone who joins that channel gets their own voice channel, which is deleted once it is empty. The full walkthrough is in our temporary voice channels guide.
The lobby stays open for everyone still inside. Any of them can claim ownership from the panel or with /lobby claim; there is no automatic hand-off, so nobody gets surprise ownership.
Yes. Turn off the name control for the server, a single setup or specific roles, or mark a setup as not editable. Names are also checked against your blacklist.
