A Dyno alternative for moderation, AutoMod and automation

Dyno is widely known for moderation, automod and custom commands. If you’re looking for a Dyno alternative, BotGG covers those jobs with Moderation, Logs and Flows — a visual, no-code automation editor — all managed from one web console.

What a Dyno alternative should handle

For most servers that use a bot like Dyno, the daily work is moderation: warnings, timeouts, bans and a history of every action. Around that sit AutoMod filters that catch spam before a moderator sees it, logs that show what happened, and a few automatic replies or actions tailored to the server.

BotGG splits those into modules. Moderation and Logs cover the staff side; Flows covers the “when this happens, do that” side, including the keyword replies many servers build as custom commands.

Moderation and AutoMod in BotGG

Moderation gives you /warn, /timeout, /kick, /ban (with an optional duration for temporary bans), /softban, /note, /purge, /slowmode, /lock and /lockdown. Every action becomes a numbered case with reason, evidence links and a timeline; /case and /modlog pull up history, and optional DMs tell members what happened.

  • Warning escalation — e.g. three warnings in seven days lead to a timeout, five to a kick.
  • AutoMod rules — spam, duplicates, mentions, caps, invites, links, bad words, zalgo, attachments and new accounts, each with its own action and exemptions.
  • Anti-raid — a burst of joins can lock channels and act on new accounts, then end automatically.
  • Anti-nuke alerts — mass channel or role deletions and bans are detected and reported.

Custom commands and automation with Flows

BotGG doesn’t have a classic list of custom text commands. Instead, Flows let you connect a trigger to logic and actions on a visual canvas. A “message created” trigger plus an IF node and a reply action covers the typical keyword response; other triggers include member joined or left, role changed, reaction added, button clicked, voice state changed and schedules.

Actions include sending messages, replies and DMs, adding or removing roles, timeouts, kicks, bans, threads and reactions. On the Pro plan, Flows can also start from webhooks and use Google Sheets or MySQL. Pair everything with Logs for a record of messages, members, voice, channels and roles. The no-code automation guide shows a first flow step by step.

How to switch to BotGG

  1. Invite BotGG

Add BotGG with the invite link and place its role above the members and roles it needs to moderate.

  2. Recreate your moderation setup

In the console, set mod roles, the mod-log channel, AutoMod rules and escalation steps, then choose log channels in Logs.

  3. Rebuild custom commands as Flows

For each auto-response or custom command you rely on, build a flow with a message trigger, a condition and a reply. Use the test run in the editor before enabling it.

  4. Test with a staff account

Try warnings, a timeout and an AutoMod rule in a staff channel, and check that cases and logs land where you expect.

  5. Turn off overlapping modules

Disable automod, logging and matching custom commands in the old bot so members aren’t filtered, answered or logged twice.

Frequently asked questions

Is BotGG a good Dyno alternative?

If you mainly use a bot for moderation, AutoMod, logs and a few automatic replies, BotGG covers those use cases with Moderation, Logs and Flows. Test it with a staff account first.

Does BotGG support custom commands?

Not as a list of text commands. Keyword replies and custom actions are built as Flows, which react to messages and other server events.

Can I import my moderation history?

No. Past cases stay in the old bot. New actions are recorded as BotGG cases from the day you switch.

Can moderators use roles instead of Discord permissions?

Yes. Configured mod roles can use moderation commands in addition to members with the matching Discord permission.

Is BotGG affiliated with Dyno?

No. BotGG is an independent bot. Dyno is mentioned here only to describe a common use case.

Dyno is a trademark of its respective owner. BotGG is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Dyno. We only describe BotGG’s own capabilities; check the official website of Dyno for its current features and terms.
