A Sapphire alternative for moderation, welcome messages and role menus
Sapphire is known as a general-purpose Discord bot that bundles moderation, welcome messages, reaction roles, logging, social notifications and custom commands. If you’re looking for a Sapphire alternative, BotGG covers the same everyday jobs as separate modules you switch on and configure in one web console.

What an all-in-one bot like Sapphire is used for
Servers choose a multipurpose bot so that one tool handles the routine: moderating chat, greeting newcomers, letting members pick their roles, keeping a record of what happened and announcing new streams and videos. A few custom replies or automatic actions usually round it off.
In BotGG each of these jobs is its own module with its own page in the console. You enable only what your server needs, edit settings as a draft and save once; the bot picks up changes without a restart.
Moderation, logs and welcome
Moderation covers /warn, /timeout, /kick, /ban with optional durations, /softban, /purge, /lock and /lockdown, with numbered cases, /case and /modlog history and warning escalation. AutoMod rules handle spam, mentions, caps, invites, links, bad words and new accounts, and anti-raid and anti-nuke protection are part of the same module.
Logs post message edits and deletions, joins and leaves, role and nickname changes, voice activity, channel, role and server changes and moderation actions — each category in its own channel — and include an invite tracker. Welcome greets new members with a message and an optional image card (neon, glass or minimal style), says goodbye when they leave, can offer a server guide by DM through a button, and can wait until a member has passed Verification.
Role menus, social alerts and custom automations
The rest of the usual toolkit is covered by three more modules:
- Role menus — buttons, a select menu or classic reactions, with modes for toggle, one-role-only, add-only and remove-only, plus required or blocked roles and a minimum level. Free servers get 3 menus, Pro 50.
- Social alerts — posts when a Twitch or Kick channel goes live, when a YouTube channel uploads a video, short or stream, or when any RSS or Atom feed updates;
/alerts testpreviews the message. 3 subscriptions on Free, 100 on Pro. - Flows — instead of a list of custom text commands, you connect a trigger (a new message, a member joining, a reaction, a button click, a schedule) to conditions and actions such as replying, sending a DM or giving a role. A message trigger with a keyword filter and a reply works like a classic custom command.
| What you need | How BotGG covers it |
|---|---|
| Moderation commands and history | Warn, timeout, kick, ban and temporary bans as numbered cases |
| Automatic chat filters | AutoMod rules with delete, warn and timeout actions and exemptions |
| Welcome and goodbye messages | Greeting text with an optional image card, plus a goodbye message |
| Reaction roles | Role menus with buttons, a select menu or reactions |
| Server logs | Logs per category in separate channels, plus an invite tracker |
| Twitch, YouTube and Kick notifications | Social alerts with templates, pings and a test command; RSS feeds too |
| Custom commands and auto-responses | Flows with a message trigger, a keyword filter and a reply |
| Auto role on join | A Flow with a “member joined” trigger and an “add role” action, or roles granted by Verification |

How to switch to BotGG
Invite BotGG
Add BotGG with the invite link and move its role above every role it should hand out or moderate.
Enable the modules you use
In the console, turn on Moderation, Welcome, Role menus, Logs and Social alerts and rebuild each setup: AutoMod rules, greeting, menus, log channels and subscriptions.
Rebuild custom commands as Flows
For each custom command or auto-response you rely on, build a flow with a message trigger, a filter and a reply, and use the editor’s test run before enabling it.
Test in a staff channel
Post a role menu and the welcome message in a test channel, run
/alerts test, and try a few moderation commands on a test account.Switch off the old modules
Disable the matching features in the old bot so members aren’t greeted, answered or logged twice, and delete its old role menu messages.
Frequently asked questions
Is BotGG a good Sapphire alternative?
If you use a bot mainly for moderation, welcome messages, reaction roles, logs and stream notifications, BotGG covers those use cases. Custom commands are rebuilt as Flows. Try it on a test channel first.
Does BotGG have custom commands?
Not as a list of text commands. Keyword replies and custom actions are built as Flows, which react to messages, joins, reactions, buttons and schedules.
Can BotGG give a role automatically when someone joins?
Yes, with a Flow that adds a role on “member joined”, or through Verification, which grants member roles once a newcomer has verified.
Can I move my existing settings over?
No. Settings aren’t imported from other bots; you recreate them in the console, which usually takes a few minutes per module.
Is BotGG affiliated with Sapphire?
No. BotGG is an independent bot. Sapphire is mentioned here only to describe a common use case.
Sapphire is a trademark of its respective owner. BotGG is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Sapphire. We only describe BotGG’s own capabilities; check the official website of Sapphire for its current features and terms.
